MULTI-COLOR PEARLS

Founder

My life hasn't always taken the road in which I planned to travel. As a young woman, I became pregnant and had to put my dreams and goals on hold. Raising my son and making sure he received a great education became my top priority. I became a Certified Nurse's Aide, working private duty cases which  enabled me to send my son to private and catholic school and then off to college. Once he headed off to college, that's when I decided once again to pursue my dreams and goals.

I completed one of my lifetime goals of obtaining  a Pennsylvania Real Estate License. My other lifetime goal was obtaining a college degree and now finally, my dream is coming true as to completing my college degree. While pursing my degree, I was thrown one of life's surge balls. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and needed extensive medical treatments for several years. While in remission, I decided to re-register at Community College of Philadelphia, and obtain my Associate Degree in Business Administration through CCP's Dual Admissions with Temple University Fox School of Business.

In my circumstances, my life-threating health situation made me reflect on what's truly important in life and what really matters to me as an individual. As a young mother, I have always known that education is the "key to success" and wanted to help other young adults pursue their education, but I didn't know how or which approach I was going to take to get involved and that's when I saw a poster at CCP that assist homeless
college students. From that moment that's when I began to start my own non-profit organization to assist homeless college students who are in dire need of housing assistance.
